The Kentucky Bluegrass Chapter of the Society of Government Meeting Professionals is dedicated to improving the knowledge and expertise of individuals in the planning and management of government meetings through education, training, industry relationships and mutual support. The Chapter holds monthly educational meetings focusing on building the skills necessary to plan better cost effective and more efficient government meetings, as well as developing the relationships which will enable planners and suppliers to work together.

Come On Spring!

I am so excited for spring to arrive!  This mild winter with 50+ degree days has made me ready for spring.  The Kentucky Bluegrass Chapter of SGMP started the year off right with our Valentine’s Day meeting.  Thank-you to everyone who attended this packed meeting.   Thank-you to Essential Details for the beautiful decorations and for presenting an interesting educational program.   If you missed the meeting we have lined out all our educational programs for the remainder of the year and we think you will be pleased.  In March we will move our meeting to Lexington, March 20th in the evening from 6-8 p.m. at Marriott Griffin Gate and host students from UK’s Hospitality Management program. We need all our planners and suppliers to attend and talk to these students about your real world experiences.  If your company/agency is hiring, even if it is just summer interns, bring information and we will have a mini job fair at the end.  In April we will have a popular trade show with a new twist.  This will be a reverse trade show.  We will also play Audio/Visual Price is Right!  Don’t forget to register for the National Education Conference in New Orleans in May.  SGMP National does it right and it is packed with lots of fun educational workshops.  So what are you waiting for MEET ME IN NEW ORLEANS!
